Report directly to the Chief Operations Officer, providing regular updates on service delivery, operations, and technical challenges.
Provide technical support for over 200 vessels, handling an average of 15-30 support tickets per month, primarily related to Marine Satellite Communications equipment, IT networking, and associated issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with Marine Satellite Communications systems, components, and IT networks, ensuring timely and effective problem resolution.
Manage and coordinate operational and logistical tasks related to satellite communication services, including overseeing service delivery to clients.
Assist with sales order processing, ensuring accurate and timely fulfilment of customer orders.
Collaborate with freight forwarding companies to arrange ocean freight services, managing product shipments and ensuring all required shipping documentation is handled, including proforma invoices, Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, certificates, and permits.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company policies, and customer requirements while monitoring and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues.
Maintain accurate records of support tickets, sales orders, and shipping documentation, ensuring clear communication between sales, logistics, and technical teams for seamless operations.
Candidates without prior experience in sales order processing or shipping documentation but possessing a strong background in technical support for vessels, particularly with Marine Satellite Communications equipment or IT networking, are encouraged to apply. A willingness to learn and adapt to these additional responsibilities will be considered.
REQUIREMENT
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
CCNA certification is highly desired.
Experience with IT networking and troubleshoot to resolve IT-related issues, including understanding how traffic is routed.
Familiarity with Mikrotik equipment, Cisco scripting, and Python programming is highly advantageous
Prior technical support experience with the ability to handle 15-30 support tickets per month, ideally within the marine or shipping industry.
Experience in Marine Satellite Communications equipment is an advantage.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues effectively.
Experience in sales order processing, logistics coordination, and shipping documentation is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage tasks efficiently.
Open to candidates without a logistics background but with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
