Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd is a company Established on March 16, 1967, Pacific International Lines has its origins in the newly independent Singapore. Founded by Chang Yun Chung and ten assembled shareholders, the company initially operated two Dutch-owned vessels, later re-crowned as 'Lion City' and 'Dragon City'. Within a decade, PIL will own and operate more than 60 tweendecker, multi-purpose semi-containers, breakbulk ships and livestock carriers. In the late 1960s, the PIL expansion brought ships into China, the Arabian Gulf and East Africa. Between the late 1980s and mid-90s, the PIL made the transition from a breakbulk-dominated carrier into a mostly container shipping operation.
