Monthly to the Director:
Sales Statistics - values and quantities with analysis comments
Promotional Activities – costs and budget with variance comments
Changes in the market, specific comments on likely impact on the Company
Activities by competitors and likely competitors and the possible affect on the Company’s marketing strategy
Monthly Sales Targets to retail customers
OBJECTIVE, KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS:
To co-ordinate the marketing of the Company’s products:
to all market sectors and all sales territories
to ensure product availability with the brokers/distributors/customers
to achieve sales quantity and value (gross and net) targets for retail market
to maintain marketing and department costs within budget
To maintain a close and ongoing relationship with the Company’s retail customers, brokers and distributors
To develop detailed sales targets with the brokers and distributors and formulate the Company’s sales and marketing budget :
plan and implementation of promotional campaigns
co-ordinate in-store demonstrations
plan the participation in food fairs etc
To develop and co-ordinate market support and promotional plans directly or in conjunction with the brokers and distributors:
Authorisation of credits in respect of claims by customers in accordance with marketing and promotional campaigns as controlled by the marketing budget
To maintain sales statistics and records and prepare detailed analysis and monthly board report.
Customer Complaints - in conjunction with the Quality Officer, review the register of complainants and ensure they are investigated and formally responded to. Report any HACCP Food Safety implications to the Director
To co-ordinate the product specification packaging design and artwork through to approval prior to printing
This position participates in and confers with the other staff members concerning:
Product Development Team
Product design and specifications
Production Planning Committee
HACCP Quality Program
Quality Assurance and Control Issues
To comply with all policy and procedure listed in the Company Induction Booklet including the general conditions and rules, security and confidentiality.
POSITION DIMENSIONS:
This position is restricted in authority but may make recommendations in writing to Management on the following matters:
Additions, deletions, modifications to the product range
Price Lists – All changes and re-issuing of price lists must be formally authorised and signed by the Director
Establishment of Terms of Trade with new customers
Special pricing deals, terms and promotions – All terms that exceed set parameters of Company policy must be formally authorised and signed by the General Manager
Changes to any of the Company’s brokers or distributors
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
The successful performance of this position will be evaluated on the following bases:
The achievement of budgeted sales volume and values (gross and net)
The maintenance of marketing and department costs within budget
The ability to maintain a cordial and effective relationship with retail trade customers, brokers and distributors
PERFORMANCE REVIEW
The review of performance of this position is to be at regular intervals.
REQUIREMENT
Tertiary Marketing/Business qualifications and/or relevant Food Industry marketing and sales experience
Demonstrated sales management experience in the Food Industry or other Fast Moving Consumer Products servicing the Retail and Food Service markets
Proven experience in maintaining long term professional sales relationships
Excellent interpersonal skills
Commitment to teamwork
Proven standards of integrity and confidentiality
Computer literate and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Current Victorian driver’s licence.
